DO NOT WANT:  Pregnancy, death, scat/watersports.

The Boxer - Simon & Garfunkel
  • I love story songs and this is one of the finest.  Even if you just write the song, I will be very happy, or maybe explore a scene or two from it.

Brandy (You're a Fine Girl) - Looking Glass
  • I was named for this song, so it's obligatory for me to request it.  Something where Brandy's not left pining is what I want.  Maybe she goes off to sea to join him.  Maybe she takes off with her own crew.  Or just retell the song with some more fleshing out.  Anything goes.

Crime of the Century - Supertramp
  • Anything goes here.  I love the feel of this song even more than the lyrics, so if you just want to write whatever comes with the feel, I'm down.  Or if you want to go strictly lyrics-based, I'm good too.

Die Young - Ke$ha
  • For no particular reason (OK, actually a ship, but whatevs) I keep imagining the lyrics fitting with pilots going off to war.  Like, it's their last dance and they might as well make the most of the night because who knows what might happen tomorrow.  That's just my constant with this, but if you want to do something else with it, I'm cool.  I just like the feeling of the song, that carefree attitude because who knows, we could die tomorrow, but tonight's gonna be kickin'.

Doolin-Dalton - Eagles
  • "Well the town lay out across the dusty plains/like graveyards filled with tombstones waiting for the names".  If that's not poetic af, I don't know what is.  It's lines like that that make this song stand out for me, especially since it's an intro song for the whole album.  It very much sets the tone.  Anything that captures that feeling is good by me.

Fire - The Crazy World of Arthur Brown
  • If you choose this, I will love you 5ever.  It's such a wild song from start to finish and has such a frenetic energy about it that really makes it tops.  Anything that captures the energy of this song is solid.

Make Me Feel - Janelle Monae
  • I get queerer every time I listen to this song, so yes, give me all the queer magic in any kind of combination(s).

The Mystic's Dream - Loreena McKennitt
  • Wow, I haven't heard this one in a long time, but man it was my jam ten years ago.  Fantasy, mystery, the fae:  anything that goes along with the feel of this song is wonderful.  It reminds me of faerie markets and summer nights.

Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon
  • This is such a fun song, for all its gore.  There's something so upbeat about it all, and I need something that captures that playfulness in the song, even while dealing with bloody werewolf antics.

The Wind - Cat Stevens
  • The music feels like wind, the lyrics just moving on the breeze.  Something that captures that airy feel, but that also catches the meaning of lyrics, too.
