Such great questions! Something I seldom see people discuss... 2. Your favourite tense?

My favorite tense:

Definitely past tense. I can finagle present tense in a pinch, but I naturally default to past. I realize it's probably because I write the way I tell stories, which typically is past tense.

I once did an entire 10,000 word big bang in present and let me tell you, I'd be happily writing and suddenly realize I'd switched to past somewhere and go SONOVA!!, then grumble as I go back to figure out where I switched to fix it.

Thank you for the response! I've written longer fic in past tense, but I prefer using present tense in short stories. As for the SONOVA moment, I can relate - although for me it didn't happen with tense but with slipping from third person to first at the time when I had decided to start using third person instead of my long-time favourite but unpopular technique (in short stories).
